How social media affects people with depression.

Social media can affect individuals with depression into two ways and the first way is the negative way in the following ways;

1.Comparison.Seeing idealized portrayals of others' lives can lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem.

2.Cyberbullying.Negative interactions and online harassment can worsen depressive symptoms.

3.Isolation.Excessive use can lead to social isolation, reducing real-life social interactions.

4.Sleep Disruption Late-night use can interfere with sleep, which is crucial for mental health.

However, Sandra thinks otherwise because there are Positive Effects of social media since it affects in different ways as the following;

1.Support Networks.Online communities and support groups can provide emotional support and understanding.

2.Awareness and Resources. Access to information about depression and mental health resources can be beneficial.

3.Connection.Staying in touch with friends and family, even virtually, can provide a sense of connection and support.

And to her conclusion she says, balance and mindful use of social media are important for managing its impact on mental health.
