The UAE was founded in 1971.And is made of seven Emirates That include Abu Dhabi as the capital city and Dubai as the as the economic capital. It has a population of approximately 10 million. With 90 percent being experts. Those Express are foreigners who come to live and study and work in the UA. as the Percentage shows the UA Nationals account For 10 percent of the population. The UA has youthful population with 30 to 35 percent between 15 to 35 years of age. The government fully believes that the empowerment is vital in order to enable young people to shoulder Responsibilities, Innovate and contribute to the welfare of the community One such examine Was the appointment in 2016 of her excellency Shamma Al Mazrui as the first Minister of State for Youth Affairs in the UAE at just 22 years old making her the world's youngest minister at the time.Another example, 75 percent of employees in the UAE Ministry Finance are youth. They play a role in the financial growth of the United Arab Emirates and in achieving sustainable, economic development Of the country. The government's national youth Agender's vision is for future ready youth Who relies their full potential and embody UAE character?
The federal youth Authority has three strategic objectives, divided into 11 priorities, which I will briefly talk about. The first strategic objective is nurturing character through shaping and nourishing imarati Youth by in instilling values and National pride raising a wireness and equipmenting them with capabilities and competencies within the framework of developing skills the UAE has launched Advanced and diverse training programs that contribute significantly to preparing young people for future challenges and contributing into achieving sustainable development. The third strategic objective. Focuses on how to maximize participation of Youth in different sectors. Through establishing and enabling youth councils. The UAE government is pursuing unique approach to represent, engage and Empower Youth by creating a bridge between youth and decision makers.
They include programs such as imarati's youth Global initiative which is the umbrella function for the UA youth initiatives abroad. The youth circles and initiative to inspire youth Centric dialogue across a variety of areas, forced sustainable, engagement with youth to shape innovative solutions for global challenges. In 2019, ten Rwandan students were given full scholarships to persue their bachorals degree programs at sorbone Abu Dhabi University, since 2002 the UAE through the Alma 2 Foundation has supported Rwanda's education by funding two secondary schools For the last 16 years, the UAE through the Khalifa Benz Foundation, Has also been, 100% funding, the Islamic, secondly for Sciences and the Islamic culture Center?
This, you know, is they called Gaddafi Center which is not Center, it is now a UAE senator and the school accepts students from all fields, From all electricities. And I happen to meet some ministers. In the government who told me they were Christians. Who told me? They finished their high school from just Islamic school.Going beyond use empowerment through education, and June, 2019, the UA government signed with the government for RWanda and Morandan understanding to fascinate labor, Mobility between Rwanda, and the and the United Emirates allowing skills for one dance to access job opportunities in the United Arab Emirates through exchange of Workforce, as well as transfer of skills and knowledge.
As I conclude I want to tell you that. I know most of the youth Empowerment initiatives. I encourage you and the leaders of this University to look into implementing them here at the University because they allow the youth and leaders to work together and inspire each other to reach greater Heights.
